Leisure, nature and the seasons

Cool, magical winter days,
the resurrection to new life,
the secrets of the flowers and leaves,
and the transience in us and our surroundings.

The awakening of nature - simply amazing

Feel the clear air after long, quiet winter months and enjoy walks through forests and meadows with an indescribable view. Numerous walks in Val Gardena lead you across meadows, along streams and past farms to lookout points with benches and wonderful mountain and panorama views. You can feel the power of nature here, watching how buds and flowers fight their way back to life after a cold winter.

Whether Nordic walking, trail running off the beaten track or classic jogging: there are almost unlimited possibilities in Val Gardena. Lace up your running shoes and enjoy running on asphalt-free paths: in the great outdoors, at your own pace, free from any feeling of stress.

Summer freshness, sun, mountain enjoyment and vision

Val Gardena and the Dolomites are not only among the largest but also one of the richest floral areas in the Alps, which bloom in full splendor in summer. The unevenness of the terrain, the mountains, valleys and hills, the increase in height with the mountains and the Mediterranean-influenced climate make Val Gardena a botanical treasure trove. From the valley you walk through pine, spruce, larch and stone pine forests, or reach the alpine pastures comfortably with numerous lifts, which are also adorned above the tree line with wild orchids, petals, stone roses, alpine roses, edelweiss and thousands of other flowers and blossoms.

The sunrise high up against the backdrop of an impressive mountain landscape is just one of the many experiences in summer in the lofty heights and in the great outdoors.

When wandering from huts to huts, which invite you to enjoy typical South Tyrolean cuisine, the marmots whistle their melodies, while chamois silently watch people from the high rock reliefs of the Dolomite towers. High up on the peaks, where nature takes back what belongs to her, you might even be lucky enough to watch one of the few eagles in our large Dolomite area on his foray. Hiker, climber or mountain biker will find a variety of tours that will make their heart beat faster.

The blaze of colors of nature, burning mountains, blue sky and brightly colored larches

When summer slowly ends, nature finds its peace and the larches turn from green to yellow, orange, red and brown and the sky appears clearer than ever before, then the pale mountains of the Dolomites turn into glowing rocks: a special natural spectacle. The edges, peaks and towers are bathed in magical sunlight sourrounded by the crystal clear blue frame of the sky, which is typical for the stable, beautiful weather in autumn. The color spectrum amazes young and old.

Autumn also invites you into November and sometimes longer, for short and long hikes, bike tours or meditative walks in which you can feel the transience of life.
